Morwesi grew up in Dube, Soweto, alongside her elder sister and younger brother, they are her only siblings. She completed her matric at Task Academy and pursued journalism studies at LNB campus.

Morwesi Theledi, now an ex-convict, started facing legal issues in the year 2010 when she was arrested for fraudulent activities involving a bank.
The whole issue began in 2008 when her some of her customers pressurized her to steal money from the bank by threatening harm to her son and family members.
They went as far as providing tips on how the operation would be carried out, money vouchers, and even paid her debts, creating a situation where she felt the need to steal from the bank.
Under that same pressure and threats, Morwesi agreed to steal about R2.7 million, with an additional R300,000 set aside. Realizing That she has made a mistake, she delayed the transactions and eventually blocked the account by inflating the amount from R2.7 million to R27 million.
When the thieves discovered that the money was not transferred, they reported her to the police.
She was arrested in 2010 and was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2012. In the process, she was pregnant with her second child at the time of her arrest, she gave birth in prison while she was still serving. After two years, the child was sent to live with her parents. The child is currently 14years old.
after serving her jail term, Morwesi was released In 2016. She has undergone significant personal growth and is actively using the skills she learnt during her time in prison.
